This is the news: Tickets for the RBD show are sold out. And I'm not talking about something that took a long time, it sold out very quickly. The truth is that many fans were waiting for this tour. And those who weren't expecting it went crazy when it was confirmed. Although many fans have already grown up, it seems that the idolatry has not ended.
During the “Soy Rebelde” tour in Brazil, there will be shows in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. And when a tour of this size is restricted to just a few places, we already know that tickets won't be enough. And that's exactly what happened. With shows restricted to two cities and few dates, there are bound to be problems selling tickets. And that's what happened!
RBD's trajectory
If you are reading this text, you probably already know RBD. But, for those who don't know, the acronym RBD means Rebel. This is the name of a Mexican soap opera that was very successful in the early 2000s. Within this soap opera, there was a nucleus in which a teen pop music band was created for the plot. But the success was so great that the band ended up going from the screen to the stage and carrying crowds.
It was around 2004 when the band officially formed to record and perform shows. And, during its five-year career, the band sold more than 20 million records worldwide. In this way, they became one of the most successful Latin pop music bands of all time. Unfortunately, in 2009, RBD officially announced their separation after a farewell tour.
When RBD came to Brazil for the first time
The soap opera Rebelde was a huge success when shown here in Brazil, so the band RBD also became very popular. Therefore, companies hired RBD to do several shows for their loyal fans here in Brazil. At the same time, many RBD songs played on Brazilian radio as big hits. This made the band more popular, and the public even more adept. To this day, many people remain fans of the band and their music is often played at events and on radio stations.
The Brazilian version of Rebelde
That's right, if you don't remember, we had our own version of Rebelde. The success of the original Mexican soap opera was so great that Brazil decided to make its own. We decided to call our version Rebelde Brasil, nothing original, but it worked quite well. The plot followed the same plot as the Mexican version and was shown between 2011 and 2012.
Just like the original version, the soap opera was accompanied by a fictional band made up of actors. One of them, in fact, was Arthur Aguiar, winner of BBB22. Although it did not achieve the same success as the Mexican version, “Rebelde Brasil” was well received by young audiences and helped to consolidate the popularity of Latin pop music in Brazil.
Tickets for the RBD 2023 show in Brazil
This last week, you only heard about RBD's new tour in Brazil. Everywhere you look, you'll see someone talking about the tour. This is because the repercussion was unimaginable. We were able to see all the traffic congestion online to purchase tickets. Furthermore, we even saw reports on TV about thousands of people arriving days before tickets went on sale and sleeping in time. People taking elderly people to jump the queue. Things that are hard to believe.
But this is not the first time we have seen this happen in SP and RJ. The most recent similar situation was Sandy and Júnior's comeback tour, and the same thing happened. And, as expected, the commotion happened as tickets sold out in a short time. People who waited in line for days were unable to buy tickets. The eventin website, responsible for online sales, could not handle the traffic and worked super slowly. In short: Real chaos!
However, there are those who say that not all is lost. Rumors are emerging about new possible concert dates here in Brazil, there would be more extra dates. And there is also a more distant rumor, one that I cannot confirm, that there is a chance of an RBD show in Belo Horizonte. But that's what they're saying on the internet, and with the internet, we have to be careful.
RBD 2023 Show Dates
Well, even with all this confusion caused by ticket sales, what we know is that the shows are confirmed. Whether we will have other dates, in different places, is all speculation. So, let's talk about what we actually know: the dates of the shows in SP and RJ. Are they:
- November 16, 2023 in São Paulo – Allianz Parque
- November 17, 2023 in São Paulo – Allianz Parque
- November 18, 2023 in São Paulo – Allianz Parque
- November 19, 2023 in Rio de Janeiro – Nilton Santos Engenhão Stadium
If you got your tickets for the RBD show, I wish you a great show because I know how much work it took to get them. If you haven't managed it yet, don't be discouraged, someone always appears to sell it later. Or, who knows, new dates won't appear for you. This can happen, it happened with the Coldplay concert.
