Soap Opera Travessia: First week

In this article, I'm talking about the first week of the soap opera Travessia and listing some points covered on social media.

This Saturday, October 15th, the first week of the soap opera Travessia aired on Rede Globo was completed. Travessia is the new 9pm soap opera created and written by renowned novelist Glória Perez and under the artistic direction of Mauro Mendonça Filho. There was a lot of expectation for the start of the soap opera.

The first reason for this expectation was the information reported some time ago that influencer and former BBB member Jade Picon would be cast in a prominent role in the soap opera. Much was said about her meteoric start to her acting career, since she had never worked as such before.

And the second reason was the great success of the remake of Pantanal, which stopped Brazil in front of the TV in a way it hadn't seen a soap opera do in a long time. The soap opera caused so much commotion among viewers that at the end of the last chapter, the internet stopped saying that the actors from the soap opera Pantanal deserved all of this year's awards.

The plot's progress in the first week

The novel already had a passage of time in the first chapters. A context was created based on the first phase to serve as a basis for the sequence of the soap opera in the second phase. In the first chapter, the public was already impacted by Grazi Massafera's great performance and at the same time outraged by her so early death.

Even with her death at the beginning, she will still appear in several chapters. The author herself made a point of asking viewers to calm down on social media.

Talking about the author, as expected from Glória Perez, many things are ahead of the time in which the novel takes place. It brings elements from the future to the plot that is happening years before in the first phase. She has this characteristic!

Another thing that draws attention is the fact that she gives up truthfulness when it comes to the actors' ages. So much so that actors who are similar in age play characters that have a very big difference in the plot.

Jade Picon's debut in soap operas

Many have been waiting for Jade's debut in the soap opera Travessia for some time. Many were rooting for it and many others were rooting against it, including global actors and actresses. Some spoke in favor and others against. Anyway.

After Chiara's (Jade Picon) appearance this first week, the internet was quite busy commenting on her performance and some things were highlighted by viewers:

1 – the fact that she is unable to convey the feelings that her text conveys. For example, there is a scene where she says she is tense, but her body attitude shows something else.

2 – Many are criticizing the forced Rio accent she is using in the scenes. (And I agree that it has sounded a little strange to me.)

3 – Another comment is that the feeling it gives is that she is playing herself.

Truth be told! Many of the opposing opinions are the result of the “hate” generated by her during BBB and resentment due to the fact that she is debuting on the 9pm soap opera without ever having been an actress before.

She really isn't giving a performance worthy of a 90's soap opera, but she could very well improve over time. Grazi started out being heavily criticized and is now considered one of the great actresses. Time will tell, but I don't understand why the girl is so angry. I hope she gets better every day!

Another curiosity from the first week

In the first week, the character Ari (Chay Suede) was a child and grew up alongside Brisa (Lucy Alves); dated Brisa; he had a son with Brisa; abandoned Brisa; and betrayed Brisa. All in one week! That's it... in a week!

This caused an uproar on social media. How could Ari, who lived all this with Brisa, has a son with her, had her support to study, not have the slightest difficulty cheating on her with Chiara? That's what everyone is asking.

The way it happened, it seems like his relationship wasn't that important after all. But at no point was this made clear.

But this soap opera is by Glória Perez, and she does things her way, the way she wants. We just have to trust that it will be good and keep watching to see what happens!
